A Wauwatosa gas station is out thousands of dollars after a gas theft.

Police said someone took off -- unnoticed -- with nearly 5,000 gallons of gas worth about $20,000.

Employees of the Citgo station said the gas disappeared between mid-July and Aug. 13.

Police are investigating.
